For the first time in two years, The University of Manchester Alumni Association of Singapore (UOMAAS) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in person at our Centre on 27 April 2022. It was refreshing to see familiar faces all over again and catching up with one another was priceless. Our Southeast Asia Centre Director, Ms Lim Bee Ing, was invited to attend the AGM as a special guest.
The current President, Dr Pang Chin Hong presented to the executive committee the agenda for the evening. There was a recap of the Alumni activities for the past year, and they were done in smaller group sizes to abide by the SMM regulations. There are also plans to hold a joint event with UOMAAM in future. Financial accounts were reviewed, and a glimpse of some future activities was revealed. They ended the night with the much-anticipated networking session, over pastries and coffee.
A recap of the Executive Committee members, with Dr Pang Chin Hong as President, Dr Sharrada Subramaniam as Vice-President, Mr Fabian Chen as Treasurer and Ms Jennifer Wan as Secretary. Other Committee members elected include Mr Steven Poh, Mr Sunil Rai, Mr Joshur Ang, Ms June Yap, Ms Lim Shaw Pei and Ms Joyce Wei Shao.
