Masterclass Series: Lead a Winning Team! – 9 March 2022

The pandemic has undoubtedly changed the way we work. The complexity of teamwork has increased as teams are more global, virtual and project-driven.

Dr Carl Gavin, Senior Lecturer in Project Management at AMBS, UOM travelled to Singapore to lecture in this ‘Leading and Managing in a Global Environment’ Masterclass Series. The ‘Leading a Winning Team!’ Masterclass took place on 9 March 2022 at our centre. Dr Carl shared insights from his experience directing and managing large-scale projects for a diverse range of organisations. He also gave participants strategies to manage effective and dynamic working relationships within an organisational group.

Students and alumni participated enthusiastically in this hands-on, face-to-face Masterclass as they weighed the advantages and disadvantages of decision-making in groups and teams. They also further analysed the working relationship in a group setting. Group discussions were engaging, even while maintaining the safe distance of one metre apart.

It was a fruitful Masterclass, all thanks to Dr Carl’s sharing of his extensive knowledge and for the students and alumni in making the effort to participate wholeheartedly. Teamwork thrived!
