SPEAKER PROFILE
Dr Duncan R Shaw

Dr Duncan R Shaw helps business leaders and MBAs transform their organisations using emerging data technologies. He teaches Business Strategy and Data Technology Strategy at Alliance Manchester Business School and other leading institutions worldwide. 

Since 2004, Duncan has guided managers, MBAs, and executives on the strategic use of information. His research and consultancy focus on AI and Big Data strategy, platform business models, digital services, and business ecosystems.

With more than 30 years of experience in service innovation and business transformation, Duncan has worked with global brands including Xerox, Transamerica, Coca-Cola, Danone, Shell, and IKEA, as well as medium-sized firms, government agencies, and start-ups. He previously served as Customer Satisfaction Manager for a $2B division of Motorola (EMEA region) and now advises organisations worldwide on digital innovation.

Duncan holds a PhD in Network Orchestration and his recent work explores data monetisation, data sharing, and the intersection of business and data strategy. His book, Managing Emerging Data Technologies, was published by Sage in December 2022.
