It was a distinct honour to welcome the Right Honourable Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, Councillor Bev Craig, Deputy Mayor and Leader of Manchester City Council, alongside their delegation from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and MIDAS — Manchester’s Inward Investment Agency — to The University of Manchester South East Asia (UOMSEA) Centre on 13 June 2025 for a strategic roundtable.
This high-level dialogue brought together a distinguished and diverse group of alumni, business leaders, and strategic partners to facilitate the exchange of insights, promote collaboration, and strengthen enduring strategic relationships. We extend our sincere appreciation to our alumni and partners for their active engagement and invaluable contributions, which were integral to shaping a meaningful and forward-looking discourse.

The evening prior, the British High Commission, led by Mr Nikesh Mehta, British High Commissioner, graciously hosted the ‘Friends of Manchester’ reception at Eden Hall to welcome Mayor Burnham and his delegation. Our esteemed alumni joined a distinguished gathering for meaningful networking and to celebrate the enduring strength of the UK-Singapore partnership in a setting marked by elegance and warm hospitality!
