On Saturday, 19 July 2025, alumni & student volunteers from UOM Alumni Association of Singapore (UOMAAS) and AMBS Alumni Association of Singapore (AMBSAAS) came together for a meaningful cause as part of The University of Manchester’s annual Manchester Day of Action — a global initiative where alumni around the world unite in service, supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
Proudly organised by UOMAAS & AMBSAAS and in collaboration with Food Bank Singapore and MWS Active Ageing Centre, our Joy in Every Bundle campaign brought food, connection, and cheer to the elderly in our community.
Together, we:
Raised $3,850 for care bundles, with the excess amount enabling Food Bank to purchase additional food supplies
Packed and distributed 100 care bundles
Welcomed 36 alumni volunteers who gave their time, energy, and heart
Hosted a mini carnival promoting cognitive stimulation, social interaction and physical activity to the elderly
The elderly residents took part in the activities, collected their care bundles, and those needing a little extra help had them hand-delivered by our thoughtful volunteers!
Our gratitude goes out to everyone who contributed through donations, time, or simply by spreading the word – and to UOMAAS & AMBSAAS for their unwavering commitment.
We’re truly proud to be part of a global Manchester community that puts compassion into action.
