Professor Ken McPhail

Alliance Manchester Business School
Ken McPhail is the Dean of AMBS and Professor of Accounting at The University of Manchester. He was previously Deputy Head and Director of Research at AMBS. Prior to this, Ken was Vice Dean for Social Responsibility within the Faculty of Humanities at The University of Manchester. As Vice Dean, Ken oversaw the strategic development and implementation of the Universities distinctive social responsibility agenda across 5 schools, 36 disciplines, 18,000 students and 1,800 academic and support staff. In addition, Ken also sat on the University’s Social Responsibility Governance Group, chaired by the Vice Chancellor and Principal.

International Compliance Association
Pekka Dare, President of the ICA, leads global efforts in developing industry partnerships and setting academic and assessment standards. He collaborates with financial institutions, regulators, and law enforcement to address financial crime and compliance risks. With extensive experience as a Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Head of Financial Crime, he has managed AML, sanctions, and fraud risks. A qualified lawyer, he has also prosecuted tax evasion and advised on organized crime and complex fraud cases, offering a unique perspective on the industry’s present and future challenges.
