Following our previous successful collaboration with HCSA Dayspring SPIN, the Manchester Worldwide South East Asia Centre teamed up with HCSA Dayspring SPIN under the HCSA Community Servicesprogramme again on two more exciting occasions.
With the kind assistance of our enthusiastic student volunteer, we delivered a virtual storytelling session to the children of the HCSA members on 28 November 2020. Mr Lester Teo, our MBA student, and his daughter, Ms Lauren Teo, presented a lively and exciting storytelling session with puppets, bringing to life well-loved stories from Roald Dahl, as well as classics such as Three Little Pigs, the Enormous Crocodile and many more.
On 5 December, we delivered a virtual home-based science experiments session to the children of the HCSA members with the lovely Ms Sumitta Palaklang, another one of our Global MBA student volunteers. The morning was filled with bubbling and swirling fun as she demonstrated science experiments using regular household items! The children learnt to inflate balloons using baking soda and vinegar and made colourful portraits with milk and food colouring.
As social responsibility is one of the University’s core values, we are always heartened to see our commitments being upheld by our student and alumni. We hope to continue to make a difference and contribute to our local communities in the future.
